How it scores
What the number means
Each answer is worth zero to four points, normalised to a hundred. The bands below are how we read the result before a call.
Exposed
An attacker with ordinary tooling would likely reach something that matters, and you would probably learn about it from someone else.
Developing
The essentials are in place but coverage is uneven, and the gaps tend to sit exactly where an intruder would look first.
Defended
You would detect most intrusions and contain many of them. The remaining risk is concentrated in response speed and in proving your posture to others.
Fortified
A mature programme. Your exposure now comes from third parties, from drift, and from the surfaces that grew faster than the controls around them.
The Grid Score is self-reported. It is a fast way to find the obvious gaps and start a useful conversation — it is not an audit, and it should not be presented to a customer, an insurer or a regulator as assurance.
